Below are the answers to some frequently asked questions, however, don’t hesitate to contact me if you have further questions or require more details.

Q: What is the free meet-and-greet session?

A: After you get in touch, I will collect some basic details about your pet(s), your location and the type of dog walking or pet care you require and send you an information pack.  Before you make your first booking, we will arrange a time for me to visit and meet you and your pet(s). During this session I can learn more about the specific needs, likes and dislikes of your pet(s) (and you!) and they can start to become familiar with me. Once some paperwork has been completed you will then be registered and you can request bookings as and when you require. This session is free of charge and carries no obligation to book a service.

Q: Do I have to book dog walking or pet care for 5 days every week?

A: Absolutely not! Once registered (and spaces permitting), you can request any pet care service on an ad hoc basis, for a couple of times per week or for every weekday. Some services are also available on weekends (please see individual service pages for further information). You can vary the number of days required per week and also the duration of walks/visits each day, to suit your needs. All I ask is that, wherever possible, ad hoc/non-regular bookings for any upcoming week are made by 5pm of the previous Friday at the latest, to allow me to check availability and respond.

Q: When should I use your daytime pet home visit service?

A: Daytime pet home visits are great for puppies or dogs that cannot manage a full walk but will still need letting out, or a short walk, whilst you are out during the day. This time will also be used to ensure they have food and water, any medication required, playtime and lots of TLC! Daytime pet home visits can also be booked for other small pets if you will be going away (e.g. hamsters, gerbils, rabbits, fish, even your garden birds or resident hedgehog!) . I will take care of their feeding and cleaning and check they are doing well.

Q: When should I use your cat care service?

A: Cat care visits are ideal for when you will be away for a few days or out for an extra-long day and you will be home much later than usual, for example, at a wedding, on a day trip, at a business meeting out of town. I will visit to ensure your cat has food and water, clean their litter tray if they have one and interact with them in their favourite ways, be that playing with toys, belly rubs, chatting or even singing.

Q: Why do you recommend outdoor cats stay inside whilst I am away?

A: With outdoor cats, it is difficult to guarantee they will be at your home when I visit and if they are out I will not be able to check their well-being. Also, if cats are going in and out during your time away, I may not be able to accurately assess their food and water intake or check that their stools are consistent. However, this is only a recommendation. If you prefer your outdoor cat to continue to have outside access, and waiver my responsibilities to check the above, I will be happy to visit and do as much as I can during the allocated time slot.

Q: Which areas do you cover?

A: Listed prices include: Marykirk, Craigo, Hillside, Laurencekirk, Luthermuir and villages in between. A £1 additional fuel charge will be added (per visit) for bookings in Montrose, Brechin, Edzell and other similarly distant locations.

Q: Do you take bookings for bank holidays/Christmas/New Year/Easter?

A: When I am home and available, I will take a limited number of bookings on public holiday dates. This will vary from year to year, please check in advance.  Please note: 50% will be added to the charge for services booked on public holidays.

Q: Do you take weekend bookings?

A: I will be available most weekends during the year (exclusions include when I am on holiday and the weekends adjacent to some bank holidays/national holidays).  Please note: cat care and overnight sitting services are priced for any day of the week, including weekends; dog walking and standard daytime pet home visits are priced for Monday-Friday bookings and will incur a 25% additional charge for weekend bookings.

Q: How do I pay?

A: Charges will be discussed during booking and confirmed in writing. Regular/on-going services will be paid weekly or monthly, retrospectively, i.e. you will be invoiced at the end of a week/month for the services provided and that payment will then be due within 5 working days. Ad hoc bookings are required to be paid at the time of service delivery. Overnight sitting service requires a non-refundable deposit equivalent to the first nights’ charge, to confirm the booking. Customers can pay by bank transfer or cash.
