Fit and Fun Pet Care combines my passion for looking after animals with experience and key skills gained through the years, including being careful, thorough, observant, organised, patient and responsible.
I aim to provide a professional, honest, high quality and friendly service that exceeds customers’ expectations and always puts the welfare of pets in my care first.
I understand first-hand how leaving our furry friends, even for a day, can have us wondering how they are doing. Thus, I provide regular pet updates to keep owners informed.

Snippets About Me
I have been an animal lover all my life and very much enjoy looking after pets whenever I am lucky enough to be able. From my first pets as a child – the traditional gold-fish and hammy the hamster, moving onto persuading my parents to let me look after the school rat over the holidays, growing up with our adorable dogs, Golden Retriever Simba and Dobermann Petra, to the two beautiful Ragdolls I am proud “pet mum” to now, who bring me happiness and laughs every single day ♥ ♥
Fudge loves to help me with my work – put something down for a minute, and she’s ON it!Toffee has her very own pint glass – she doesn’t wish to drink water from the plastic cups her sister uses!
I started my working life as a research scientist, a successful career spanning 18 years. In 2012 I spent 8 months in Thailand, volunteering with an organisation teaching English in poor schools and helping in an orphanage. During this time, one of the many street dogs adopted me, keeping each other company in the office and of course she got lots of nourishing treats to eat! After my return to the UK, I began working as a Trainer in Aberdeen, teaching courses to workers in the Oil & Gas Industry. But in 2018 I found myself thinking about what type of business I could run that would be enjoyable as well as rewarding … and the idea for Fit and Fun Pet Care was born.
In April 2019, my husband and I had the amazing experience of volunteering at an Elephant Refuge in Thailand (for our honeymoon). We got to look after rescued elephants, preparing their food, feeding and exercising some, and “mucking-out” their enclosures ~ yep, I can honestly say I have walked elephants AND cleaned up their poop!

Practical Dog Walking certificate – practical day with an experienced, busy dog walker.
Pet First Aid (Level 2) VTQ – covering dog and cat health, illnesses and pet first aid – renewed 13/02/2022.
Clean criminal records check from Disclosure Scotland – copy on request.
Public Liability Insurance – business insurance with Protectivity covering dog walking, pet sitting and pet transportation.
Fully insured to transport pets and have breakdown cover (just in case!).
